    All our tutors have numerous years of experience working for Japanese companies and are trained in language teaching.

    Ken Okamoto

    Ken is a native speaker of Japanese, is TESOL-qualified and has 10 years experience teaching Japanese to both adults and children.

    Ken has taught Japanese in high school at Gosford NSW, UNSW Institute of Languages, Japan Chamber of Commerce Sydney and JTB Zaidan (Sydney).

    Hikari Nakamura

    Hikari Nakamura

    A long term resident of Australia, Hikari is a native speaker of Japanese.

    She has achieved N2 in the Secretarial Skill Proficiency test, focusing on proper business manner in Japanese and is therefore well equipped to help students with their speaking, in particular tackling the intricacies of keigo.

    At ISA Australia, Hikari has long supported Japanese students studying in Australia. Drawing from personal experience studying full-time in Canada, Hikari is well aware of the hurdles of learning a new language and culture.

    Scott Musgrave-Takeda

    Scott Musgrave-Takeda

    Scott studied Japanese formally at high school and university and knows what it’s like to wrestle with keigo, passive forms and the general pragmatics of Japanese.

    Scott uses Japanese every day as part of the team at ISA Australia and previously spent 5 years living, studying and working in Japan.

    He is a qualified TESOL teacher with a degree in linguistics. He achieved N2 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) in 2013 and can help anyone interested in studying for the exam.
