Applications are now open for our Winter Empowerment program for 2019!
You can apply right, here.
The last two years have been a rousing success with leaders from all over Australia participating as group leaders. Our group leaders from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane represented themselves with aplomb helping invigorate and mentor young Japanese minds through a fun and educational program focused around leadership and critical thinking skills.
This year, we at ISA Australia are looking for another equally talented group to take to Japan this December. The quality has increased year-by-year so far and we would love to once again see a diverse range of applicants to pick the best possible group of students to send over to mentor our Japanese high school students.
We will once again be looking to take at least 55 university students from across Australia to participate in our program. The program is, for the most part, all expenses paid including:
- Flights
- Insurance
- Meals (except lunch on non-program days)
- Accommodation (If homestay is unavailable, hotel rooming will be provided)
- Transportation between program
This program has helped many former participants kindle or rekindle a passion in teaching and Japan. It is a wonderful chance to get to experience Japan on a short-term basis.
To get an idea of some of the experience out leaders have had, here are some comment we received:
Thank you very much for this amazing opportunity. It was an incredibly fulfilling experience and I have learnt so much. It was so rewarding seeing many of the students grow in only a few days. – Sydney leader
If I had the opportunity to participate in this program again, I would not hesitate to. I have personally learnt much about myself, improved many skills I did not realise I had and become a much more independent person. – Melbourne leader
The best part of this program was being able to help many students grow in their confidence when I came to speaking English and interacting with foreigners. The students made me feel so proud being able to watch how far they had come since their first day. I was also grateful to be able to have two long programs, a 4 day program and a 5 day program. This meant that more time was spent with the students and seeing them grow. – Brisbane leader
Applications are due to close on August 26th with interviews taking place in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in September. Final orientation, which is compulsory, will be held in the last week of November following the exam period of most institutions.

We look forward to seeing your applications!
